Seen any polls for 2012 election match-ups ?
Farooq asked:
A little early, but Rammussen has Palin 3 pts behind Obama, Romney tied. Seen any other polls ?
True, some sort of banale yet pragmatic succesful governer would be best. Huntsman ? How bout Daniels- would the US have a trouble electing an Arab though ?

Does it worry you that Huckabee and Palin are polling ahead sane Republicans?
Gordon Tremeshko asked:
For the 2012 Republican Presidential Primaries. Palin and Huckabee are now ahead of people like Romney and Pawlenty. This worries me as a Republican because I may have to leave the GOP on a permanent basis if we ever were to nominate a populist, creationist nutter like Palin or Huckabee. We need reform in the GOP and we start by returning to our roots as fiscally conservative social moderates. We are ceasing to become the party of Lincoln, Grant, Eisenhower and Reagan and are moving towards the party of Herbert Hoover, Ted Haggart, Larry Craig, David Duke and Carbou Barbie.

Huckabee is Gone: Did he help or hurt the Republican Party by staying in so long? And why did he wait?
Chinagirl asked:
With the results still just coming in from Ohio, Texas, R.I., and Vermont. Huck announced in a lengthy goodbye that he was dropping out (finally) from the race, leaving McCain the sole candidate and the presumptive nominee. By contrast, Romney, by word AND deed, quit with the party and country in mind.

Why did Huck stay in so long?
Was is all about Huck? (and to hell with the party)
Was it Ego?
Did he enjoy hangin’ w/ Chuck Norris?
His was a shoestring effort, so money was not important?
Did he want to keep the values and agenda of the christian right in the debate?
You tell me!
Keep it breif, I don’t want a book.
No lib diatribes or pasted answers, and
No bloviating…thats my job!

Republicans – is this an accurate group of front runners?
MyOpinionOnly asked:
“A new national poll” (although this poll’s name was not given) lists Huckabee, Palin, and Romney as the current party front-runners for the 2012 election. There is a lot of time left, sure, but would you agree with these three being at the top at this point?

For Republicans. Who is your nominee for 2012?
dubster asked:
I think Huckabee is your best bet. He is the only Republican that, even though I do not agree with, I respect. He seems to show respect to his oppission and trys to find common ground. I also cant see the GOP voting for Romney because he is a Mormon. I think Obama will be re-elected but Huckabee can give him the best run for the money. What say you?

Romney in 2012? Do these bums have anyone else?
larrydoyle52 asked:
Who will these right-wingnuts run? Seriously they cant possibly regroup for 2012 so they must focus on 2016. The Obama team will get out the vote in 2012. Romney is the only legit choice… looks good, great speaker and DOES have a liberal past and could put enough together to win. Palin is a JOKE will NOT stimulate women with any clue. Harold Steele will not stimulate the black vote. Huckabee is unlikely. Charlie Christ is gay, will alienate the conservatives who are the only block the GOP can count on anyway (22% of the vote), and Left gays will not turn for him. The GOP may run a gorilla in hopes of getting the black vote because they are just so removed from reality.

What would the effect be on the presidental election if Ron Paul dropped out and backed Obama or Clinton?
Noah H asked:
Ron Paul is dead set aganst continuing the occupation of Iraq as are 3/4 of the US public. Neither Romney or McCain support any kind of withdrawal. Obama and Clinton are in favor of some kind of withdrawal ASAP. On this issue, would at least some of the Paul supporters vote for a democrat?

Palin vs Obama 2012 Presidential Election
If Palin were to continue her great run of 2008 and mount a good campaign of maverickness who would win in 2012? More news of her has come out of late including her fighting back to the liberal elite media on everything they criticized her on. She even expressed interest n talking to the press more. Most people think she is smart enough, has the people skills, but would she hold up in a debate against Romney to win the Republican Nomination?Yet is she did could she handle Obama in 2012?
