Why are Liberals HOPING Sarah Palin runs for President in 2012?
Mitt Romney scares the heck out of me. If Sarah Palin gets the republican nomination in 2012, it would be a huge gift for liberals and the democratic part!

Sarah Palin is the Republican frontrunner. How sad. No one even likes her anymore because she proved herself to be too unintelligent for the position in her interview with Katie Couric. She is also a complete loon, completely off her rockers!
Bobby Jindal is a minority which helps but he would be outwitted by Obama in the debates. To me, Jindal is the GOP’s best hope because of his minority status.
Mitt Romney is the second-best hope that the GOP has because of his style, looks and well-spokenness. He could get a lot of female voters to vote for him. What hurts him more than anything is his newfound pro-life position on abortion, which will scare off moderates and lots of women. The last thing we need is another Christian fundie dictating social policy!
Mike Huckabee has a good personality and has a good sense of humor (major plus there) but this is the 21st Century and no one wants an uber-religious Christian conservative calling the shots in the White House.
Rudy Giuliani hasn’t been active in politics since Bloomberg took over as NYC mayor. Also, 9/11 was a long time ago.
Ron Paul’s positions are way too extreme to win a Republican nomination and it would make no sense for him to run as a meaningless third party candidate, so he’s out of the running.
George P. Bush gets points because he is Mexican and can get that all-important Hispanic vote. He loses points because he shares the same last name as the worst president of all time, George W. Bush.
Jeb Bush lacks the Hispanic support that the younger, half-Hispanic George P. Bush has. He also did a lousy job as Florida’s governor. Incompetence must run in the Bush family.
Michael Steele counterbalances Obama’s blackness, but the black community recognizes that he is nothing more than an Uncle Tom a la Alan Keyes.
Newt Gingrich needs to get it through his head that the 90’s were a long time ago. He was a laughing stock then and he would be an even bigger laughing stock in 2012! Give it up already, your five minutes are up!
Tom Tancredo appeals to the xenophobe Lou Dobbs-watching anti-Mexican faction, not to mainstream Americans. The open-minded Obamanation would crush him.

If the economy tanks will Hilary pull a Reagan in 2012?
Just curious what people think, I hope that Obama can turn it around but if he can’t do you think that Hilary will pull a Reagan, when Reagan ran for against incumbent President Ford in 1976 for the Republican Nomination?
I am not saying that Hilary would run as a Republican, I am asking if she would run for the Democratic Nomination in 2012 if the economy tanks, the way Reagan challenged Ford.

that we would have the greatest debate in history? Super Left-Winger(100% Liberal Rating) and the “Messiah” of America vs the very Right-Leaning candidate and experienced Congressman which got many people to the Republican party since Ronald Reagan.
I really think that no one can defeat Obama in 2012 unless its Dr. Paul. I mean if stupid Bush was so popular by 2004 when he was hated in the beginning and Obama so loved at his beginning, then I doubt anyone would want a Republican, having the Republicans become so low during their time in control.

Who will win the Republican nomination in the 2012 election and why?
I’m thinking that Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and maybe Bobby Jindal could all be contenders. Maybe even Michael Steele if he wanted to.

I do not know much about politics and the election, it is really not my area. I know that John McCain has the republican nomination. What does that mean? Does Mike Huckabee no longer have a chance?

It is well documented that without Rose Perot, Bill Clinton would not have won the election.
If Ron Paul grows to a substanial precentage of voters at the polls, will it damage the Republicans enough to hand the White House to Mrs. Clinton?

For instance, he fails to win the Republican nomination, but then runs as a third party choice.
It is very possible.
How would that affect the election?
For the question, assume he does run as an Independent, then what will it cause? Remember, he has a rapidly growing grassroots and highly energized support base. Personally I think it is very possible he can swing the election but not win it. What do you think?

Since Mitt Romney’s main strength is economy, he will have advantages in the 2012 Presidential campaign. Especially since the current economy is undergoing a recession which is expected to continue for a number of years. If he can deliver a solution, there is no doubt about who will be a future world leader. The experience he gained in saving doomed corporations in his business years and the instating of Massachusetts to a superior financial status can be the instrument of his upcoming campaign. There is no doubt that in 2012, Mitt Romney will be a formidable Republican candidate.
