It has been said that McCain and she had only met once in passing…but how did she get from beauty pageant queen to Governor of Alaska, and just WHY did she get selected to be McCain’s VP?…that all remains to be seen, since more and more about this woman seems to be seeping through the cracks as we get closer to November 4th.
I don’t personally think that she is experienced enough to lead, and I would seriously hide in a fall out shelter until she were out of office should the unfortunate happen and McCain wins…and then dies…And I would take all that I loved with me!
I mean, doesn’t it really, truly, scare people to the core that this woman might end up being POTUS? Also, another question while I’m thinking about it. McCain supporters, has John McCain’s choice for Sarah Palin as his VP made you more willing to vote for McCain or more against McCain. I wanted to use this as a first name for a werewolf in a novel I’m writing but I’m afraid it will bring to mind the fmr. governor and nothing else. What do you guys think? Also, it would be cool if someone could suggest alternate spellings that might distinguish the character a bit more.

I could not help but be moved at the RNC convention by her poise in this grand arena. I tried to imagine myself in her shoes and to attempt to accomplish what she did at the RNC. I could no more connect the dots than dream of her ‘grand slam’ speech. Moreover, I think of all she has on her plate with being the governor of Alaska, a mom of 5 kids, a wife, a hockey mom, a son going off to war, a special needs infant and I get dizzy.
Sarah Palin has already served as an inspiration to many but more importantly to woman. She along with Hillary Clinton are paving the wave for woman in politics and changing paradigms left and right. As Gov Palin said in her acceptance speech about her parents simple lesson, “every woman can walk through every door of opportunity.”
We as Americans are learning to adjust our thoughts and beliefs about woman in politics and mothers in the public’s eye. We have Hillary and Sarah to thank for their courage and strength in tackling these beliefs. For opening doors of opportunity.

It tires me out just thinking of how many balls she has in the air (and obviously she has some).
Maybe the nick name that she was pegged with while playing basketball in high school says more than we know! Yes, she’s a former beauty queen, but also a fierce competitor known as “Sarah Barracuda,” a political insider-turned-outsider and the first female governor of Alaska. She may claim to be “just an average hockey mom,” but John McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin is anything but average.
Having lived with for longer than I can remember, but now mostly having overcome ADD, what Sarah Palin has done and will now being makes me tired. And I though I was still fairly good at multi-tasking. But Sarah has taken the phrase and concept to a whole new level. Can it really be a good thing? I guess it all depends upon where you palce your values, but for a woman whom the Republicans say epitomizes family values, I guess we see things a bit differently.

They dressed her up, tried to change her demeanor, and also her attitude. They succeed in dressing her up, changing her appearance a little …but never her attitude. Yes, she played by most of the rules, and did what she was told. Loved by all the people? Not be a long shot, however there were thousands who came out to hear her speak. That will never be forgotten. She is back in her home town, governing away at her very best. How come Alaska has enough surplus dollars to give back to the citizens? It does make you kind of wonder about things in our 48 contiguous states.
What does tomorrow hold for this upbeat, aggressive, altruistic leader? Some are talking about 2012. It seems like she is pretty darn happy to be home and back at her desk. She has a lot of work to do, and she is at it again. Her family remained intact. No, her family is not perfect, but whose family is?
Predictions….Keep your eyes open for 2012. I think it is a very good possibility that we will be seeing Sarah Palin drawing the crowds once again.

There’s no doubt that Sarah Palin is a fresh face on the political scene- too fresh. Her lifestyle is as good as it is bad. Isn’t that the way it is with most folks? Beyond her incredible ambition, what’s also admirable. She’s a great hockey mom and she’s PRO LIFE! But is that the qualiffications to potentially be president of America? I think you know it’s not.
Let me use the words of another woman, Peggy Noonan, whom I greatly respect. Her thoughts about Sarah Palin resonate wiht me as she wrote, “We’ve seen Mrs. Palin on the national stage for seven weeks now, and there is little sign that she has the tools, the equipment, the knowledge or the philosophical grounding one hopes for, and expects, in a holder of high office. She is a person of great ambition, but the question remains: What is the purpose of the ambition? She wants to rise, but what for?”
I think that’s a fair question.
I think she has been USED, and maybe she’ll figure it out one day, by the McCain camp to salvage his campaign; however, the splash that she brought had a 2-3 week shelf life.
Peggy goes on to write, “In the past two weeks she has spent her time throwing out tinny lines to crowds she doesn’t, really, understand. This is not a leader, this is a follower, and she follows what she imagines is the base, which is in fact a vast and broken-hearted thing whose pain she cannot, actually, imagine. She could reinspire and reinspirit; she chooses merely to excite. She doesn’t seem to understand the implications of her own thoughts.” Let’s be fair, she’s in over hear head.
