Will passage of the healthcare bill with a strong public option and the passage of the alternative energy bill?
that will create alot of jobs in this country be the end of the GOP as we know it? Since they have no vision for the future of this country and no ideas of their own?
JW… I don’t want a one party system either. But right now we have the GOP, the party of the right wing extremists. And, the Democratic party which is just to the right of center. I don’t see those as real choices either.
bbj…. I actually went ot private schools. You’re wrong about the GOP and the Dems. Obviously, you skipped the Comparative political philosophy classes.

Why does the GOP claim they are willing to work with dems, but still continues to block passage of a bill whic?
Clearly the bill needs some support from conservatives in order to achieve the votes necessary for passage, and I have to assume for this reason that there is an effort being made to prevent these votes (e.g. payoffs by Harry Reid). So here is what I don’t understand. The GOP has claimed they are willing to work with democrats…and yet they continue to block passage of a healthcare bill, simply because it is not how they want it. Do they not realize yet that the bill is not going to be just the way they want, and that they are lucky to have ANY of their ideas included in the first place? The reason their ideas were included because otherwise they were blocking passage of the bill, but now they still block it even WITH their ideas included such as private co-ops! What do you guys want from us?? I swear you are not going to be satisfied until everyone else and their mother to the left is wiped off the face of this planet or you otherwise achieve total control, even in the midst of our own congress. Why not just call yourselves facists and be done with it?

In 2012 US election- what states / demographics might change hands?
Will a new GOP healthcare reform plan push Hispanics back to a competitive demographic ? Will Obama be able to gain a foothold in the breadbasket ?
Etc
Other predictions- please dont say any wild things like the GOP will win in San Francsico’s congress seat or that the Green party will win the presidency or that the Dems win every Senate seat. Be realistic.

Are Republicans ready for the reconciliation healthcare bill?
Im hoping they do this to get the bill passed. Its true we have a few Dem’s who are against the passage of the bill right now.I say they are cowards as i also say the GOP are cowards. The only Dem’s against passage at the moment are the ones up for re election.I say to bad , their seat isn’t a career job , but a privilege to serve the American peopl which all the GOP has forgotten.

the bill can’t pass on liberals alone, it needs some support from GOP. If none of them or enough don’t vote for it then yes, that means they are blocking passage!

how can the GOP/senate vote for the passage of a bill [or be expected to do so] when they don’t know what i?
it was mentioned on at least one newscast today that the GOP is currently blocking passage of a healthcare bill because they “don’t know” what is in the proposed bill, and in fact John McCain mentioned with no degree of certainty that there is only one person [I would assume Obama] who DOES know what is in it. But this seems to suggest that the senate could vote for, or accept passage of the bill if they wanted to, even without knowing what is in it, or that the DNC [is] expects them to do so.
Questions: 1] despite claims to the contrary, it appears that there has been no official disccusion of the bill simply because of its extreme length and time necessary to review it publicly. With that said, could the senate [legally{be required to]] vote for a bill without knowing what is in it?
2] Obama has said on several occasions that there simply needs to be passage of SOME kind of reform, which seems to suggest that he doesn’t care about specifics just as long as there is passage of some bill. If that is really the case, then why is it that there is so much covertness and resistance to change surrounding the proposed bill? It’s time to stop playing politics and get down to business once and for all.

John Thune vs Obama 2012 Presidential Poll
vs.
For those in the GOP who aren’t giddy about a second Mitt Romney run and aren’t sold on the viability of Tim Pawlenty, Thune represents a mainstream conservative alternative. Tall, handsome, not yet 50 and with the sort of sunny demeanor that winning national Republicans usually possess, the former high school hoops star looks the part. He’s also something of a national party favorite for slaying a political giant — then-Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle in 2004.
How would he do against Obama in 2012?
Should Sarah Palin have a fox show called “Goin Rogue”?
If she really wants to run for President, how can she possibly catch up to Mike Huckabee in the polls?
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/64383-poll-gop-losing-touch-with-base
Or would other name might she pick? Such as “Saturday Night Dead”?
“Russia From My Backyard”?
“Ex-Governor Go’in Commando”?
Vote Palin
Why should republicans let the media pick our candidate for 2012?
Palin is hated by the media, but her favorability rating amongst republicans and right leaning independents is 72% with only 21% unfavorable. Mitt Romney is in second with 56% favorability, and 17% unfavorable.
No more McCain picks please!
We can’t afford another loss in 2012.

The democrats voted for McCain in droves, then after we nominated him, they went back to attacking him. Open elections ruined our parties chances and maximized Obama’s chances by choosing McCain.
Nancy is right.
