Huckabee is Gone: Did he help or hurt the Republican Party by staying in so long? And why did he wait?
With the results still just coming in from Ohio, Texas, R.I., and Vermont. Huck announced in a lengthy goodbye that he was dropping out (finally) from the race, leaving McCain the sole candidate and the presumptive nominee. By contrast, Romney, by word AND deed, quit with the party and country in mind.
Why did Huck stay in so long?
Was is all about Huck? (and to hell with the party)
Was it Ego?
Did he enjoy hangin’ w/ Chuck Norris?
His was a shoestring effort, so money was not important?
Did he want to keep the values and agenda of the christian right in the debate?

Is Gwen Ifill as Moderator Actually Advantageous to the McCain/Palin Ticket?
Now, before people start throwing their arms up in uproar over this question, allow me to explain what I am getting at.
Yes, Gwen Ifill currently has a book waiting to be released on the progress of black politicians in this country. That’s fact.
Yes, she is calling it the ‘Obama Age’. Also a fact.
However, if she even remotely appears to show bias in the debate on Thursday, wouldn’t it take quite a bit of shine out of the Obama/Biden ticket?
I feel that she’s going to have to be careful as moderator. She’s going to have to be very obvious in not showing bias towards Biden or against Palin. And that might actually work to the advantage of Palin in the debate.
For the record, no, I’m not supporting the Obama/Biden ticket. That should be quite obvious from some of my answers in this forum.

And yes, I know she is a very good journalist. I was hoping that I could help look at the other side of the uproar people seem to have had over her being moderator all of a sudden. Funny how some people will see that as a swipe against her.

What unfair question can Gwen ask of Palin tonight?
Gwen is trying to torpedo the McCain campaign, so that she can reap millions from her book about Obama. That is so clear. She has to defeat Palin tonight, but she can only ask questions. What kind of questions can she ask to unfairly defeat Palin tonight?
Remember, Biden has to answer the same questions, you know.

Gwen: Would you like to have an opportunity to answer that before we move on?
Palin: I’m still on the tax thing because I want to correct you on that again. And I want to let you know what I did as a mayor and as a governor. And I may not answer the questions that either the moderator or you want to hear.
That obviously unfair and biased question, to which Palin refused to answer, has tipped the balance in favor of Biden. History has been changed because of this enormity.

Did the pre-debate hype make it easy for Palin to get through without a major mistake?
To start with the format was changed at the insistence of the McCain campaign – less time for answers.
Then you see all the pundits saying that when a woman is in a debate with a man the man has to watch what he says or he comes across as condescending. So Joe Biden ends up just addressing John McCain and not criticizing Sarah Palin at all even though she attacked him several times on his record and she has so much of her own to attack.
Then a deal with Gwen Ifil writing a book that includes Barack Obama so she has to handle Palin with kid gloves. She let her get way off base answering the questions and use the debate as a rally instead of discussing issues.

that we would have the greatest debate in history? Super Left-Winger(100% Liberal Rating) and the “Messiah” of America vs the very Right-Leaning candidate and experienced Congressman which got many people to the Republican party since Ronald Reagan.
I really think that no one can defeat Obama in 2012 unless its Dr. Paul. I mean if stupid Bush was so popular by 2004 when he was hated in the beginning and Obama so loved at his beginning, then I doubt anyone would want a Republican, having the Republicans become so low during their time in control.

I was very impressed last night with Mike Huckabee. I think he is something new. Do you think he has a chance now? What are the pros and cons? I would love to hear opinions of other repubs out there.

Where is Sarah Palin donating her clothes and money raised from auctioning them off?
Im doing a debate at school and I’m Sarah Palin
I wanted to bring up how people are making fun of her about her clothes, and that she is donating them to charity and auctioning them off to raise money for charity and giving some back to the stores. I tried to find the charities, but all I found was the Pitt Bull Rescue Central (for dogs) and a chairty that helps abused women restart their lives. Are those right? is there any more? thanks for all your help!

McCain referenced Trig, Sarah Palin’s child with down syndrome, to convey to voters that she understands the tribulations they go through in raising a special needs child. Was it correct of him to use her son in the debate?
