Do you agree with the new policy of allowing openly gay people in the military? Do you think changing the "don't ask don't tell policy" will cause problems of any kind?

If you're going to allow gays in the military and let them be open about it, you may as well allow men and women to shower together. If I knew there was a gay guy in a shower next to me, you can bet that I'd be uncomfortable being naked around him.

That's kind of what I am thinking too. By announcing their sexual preferences it will cause more problems in the long run. There will probably be many that don't want to bunk with a gay soldier or shower with, or serve beside…opening a can of worms for no reason in my opinion.

I think its kind of stupid that people still feel this way. It is 2010, have we learned nothing from the past? Seriously, all kidding aside, a gay person next to you in the shower and you having issues with it is your problem not theirs. Its not like he is going to come up and try to hit on you. Sometimes straight people with gay issues end up on my list of idiots only for the way you present yourself around something you do not necessarily agree with.

This is a private, personal matter and no one's business. I believe it should not be expressed publicly!

So when someone who is gay has to deal with a hate crime and their work attempts to put a stop to it, then its okay to keep their mouth shut and not tell anyone about it? I could really see it now, its okay that people can file a sexual harassment case in their work but if its a gay/hate crime they just need to say "Oh, never mind its okay". It is private I get that, but to say there is no reason other than it being private to keep from those you work with and those who's job is (like HR for example), thats just nonsense.
